DAY 1 CHIANG RAI
On arrival transfer to the hotel. Time to relax at the hotel/resort or just explore the city by yourself. In the evening take the
chance to visit the little, but colorful night- and food market.
DAY 2 CHIANG RAI - GOLDEN TRIANGLE - CHIANG RAI
After breakfast travel to the north. Take a side trip to Doi Tung mountain. Visit the royal garden, the hill top temple, as well
as an Akha hill tribe village. Go on to Mae Sai, the market- and border town. Take a stroll over the border market. An optional visit to the
Burmese border town of Tachilek can be arranged (one day border pass available). Continue to the famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of
Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) meet. Have a quick look in to the small Opium Museum. Then take a boat trip on the Mekong River to the former
royal town of Chiang Saen. It does incl. a stop at the Laotian river island of Don Sao as well. Late afternoon you will be back in Chiang Rai and
spend another night.
DAY 3 CHIANG RAI - DOI ANGKHANG
After breakfast visit beautiful Wat Rong Khun (white temple). Then enjoy a scenic trip by longtail boat up the Kok River. Take some
brief stops on route, such as at a small elephant camp, at some hot springs (opportunity to take a bath), but also at a Lahu hill tribe village.
Reach the Shan village of Ban Mai and continue on the road to Thaton. Visit Wat Thaton with it's giant Buddha images and enjoy the great views.
Travel on up to the hill top of Doi Angkhang. Take a walk through royal farming project. Overnight at Doi Angkhang.
DAY 4 DOI ANGKHANG - CHIANG MAI
In the morning visit one of the rare Palong hill tribe villages. Continue and drive through the mountain wilderness along the Burmese
border area and see some remote villages. Arrive the Ping Valley near Chiang Dao, where you visit the local cave temple. Travel on towards Chiang
Mai. On route take some stops, for example at a local countryside market and at an orchid farm. Arrive Chiang Mai in the afternoon. If you wish to
do so and time allows, then you got the opportunity for some sightseeing in the northern capital. Overnight.
DAY 5 CHIANG MAI
Transfer to the airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
This program can be done as well v. v., begin in Chiang Mai and end in Chiang Rai. But also both, begin and end in Chiang Mai
is possible.
This package is also available slightly modified with basic middle class hotels/resorts, which would reduce the tour price, of course. If you
