DAY 1 PAKSE - TAD LO
In the morning you will be picked up from the hotel or airport in Pakse and start your tour. First take a short tour through the southern capital. Then continue
to the Bolowen Plateau. On route see the Tad Fane waterfall and take some brief stops at villages of ethnic minorities, such as the Katou and Nge. Go on to visit a coffee- and
tea plantation. Finally arrive Tad Lo, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and a picturesque waterfall. Opportunity for a short walk to the nearby minority village or just
take a cool bath at the water fall. Overnight in Tad Lo.
DAY 2 TAD LO - KHONG ISLAND
After breakfast descent back to the valley until you reach the Mekong River. Take a ferry to cross to Champasak. Here you will visit the Angkor temple of Vat Phou.
This ancient stone palace is an architectural marvel. After lunch heading back to the mainland and drive further to the south. Take a look to the huge and spectacular Khone
Phapheng falls, where the Mekong takes a deep just before the Cambodian border. Later go on and cross to Khong island, where you will stay for overnight.
DAY 3 KHONG ISLAND - PAKSE
In the morning continue by boat in southern direction to the 4000 river islands. Get off the boat at the laid back island of Don Khone. Here you can also see some
remains of the French's occupation, such as an old locomotive, a railway line and the bridge to the island of Don Det. Enjoy a short walk through tropical forest until you reach
the Liphi waterfall. After lunch drive back towards Pakse. On route take a side trip to the hidden forest temple of Oum Moung. Arrive Pakse by late afternoon. Overnight.
DAY 4 PAKSE
Transfer to the airport and contnue your journey...on request transfer to the Lao-Thai border crossing of Chong Mek or all the way to Ubon
Ratchathani (Thailand) is possible.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
Visa for Laos available on arrival at the Thai-Laotian border crossing of Chong Mek (Ubon Ratchathani), but also at Pakse Airport and all other
major border crossings and airports in Laos. This against a fee of US$ 30.- (you should bring a passport photo with you).
Accommodation before and/or after the tour in Pakse can be booked with us.
Instead heading back to Pakse on the 3rd day it is also possible to travel overland to Cambodia. If you wish to do so, just let us know.

from/to Vientiane and Luang Prabang, transfers by overland from/to Ubon Ratchathani (Thailand) via border check point Chong Mek.
