CNX051 MAE WANG - 2 DAYS/1 NIGHT

DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - TREKKING

In the morning pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai. Drive by pick up truck for about one hour in southwestern direction to the Mae Wang Valley. Brief stop at a local market. Opportunity to buy some snacks and drinks. Then enjoy a one hour elephant ride in the forest. Afterwards start walking and reach a small waterfall where you can take a cool bath. Continue walking on the jungle trail. Finally you will arrive at a Karen hill tribe village for overnight (todays trekking 2-3 hours).

DAY 2 TREKKING - CHIANG MAI

Go on with trekking in the green hills, passing various Karen and Hmong hill tribe villages. Later see a royal farming project, which has the object to support the poor farmers and hill tribe people. Then reach another small waterfall. From here short transfer by pick up truck to a Shan riverside village for lunch. Afterwards have fun with your trip down the river on a bamboo raft (it can get a bit wet!). Finally drive back to Chiang Mai, where you will arrive in the late afternoon (todays trekking 2-3 hours). Transfer to the hotel, airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.

CNX052 MAE WANG - 3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS

DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - TREKKING

Same itinerary as above CNX-051 on day 1

DAY 2 TREKKING

Trekking in the hills, passing various Karen and Hmong hill tribe villages. Finally arrive at another waterfall and stay at the camp next to it for overnight (todays trekking 4-5 hours).

DAY 3 TREKKING - CHIANG MAI

Go on trekking for another 2-3 hours to a small Shan riverside village. After lunch same program as above itinerary CNX-051 on day 2 with bamboo rafting and then drive back to Chiang Mai. Arrival late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel, airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.

CNX053 MAE WANG - 4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS

DAY 1-4 CHIANG MAI - TREKKING - CHIANG MAI

Same itinerary as above CNX-052, but on the 2nd day do an extra loop and trek 4-5 hours to another remote Karen hill tribe village for overnight. On the 3rd and 4th day as per itinerary above (CNX-052 days 2-3) above with trek to the waterfall camp, on the last day bamboo rafting and drive back to Chiang Mai in the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel, airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.

REMARKS:

A small rucksack and a water canteen can be provided. During the cool season (Dec-Feb) we recommend to bring a long sleeves sweater or a jacket. A mosquito repellent and a torch can be very useful as well. Otherwise light clothes and good walking shoes are recommended to wear during the trek.
Accommodation in Chiang Mai before and/or after the tour can be booked with us as well.
